Welcome to unblocked-games.in. Today, weโre covering the basics of something called Roblox. This guide is intended for people who arenโt familiar with Roblox, so if youโre a player or a fan, this might be a handy article to share with friends or family who could use some help understanding it.
What is Roblox?
Imagine Roblox as a platform for a wide variety of games and experiences. Not only can you play games, but if youโre interested, you can actually create games for others to enjoy.
Most users are players (or consumers), spending time discovering their favorite games, while a smaller group takes on the role of creators, designing games for the community. Thereโs also a system for spending and earning real-life money โ some games or in-game items may require purchases, which support the developers behind them.
Customizing Your Avatar
Roblox puts a high emphasis on your avatar โ the character that represents you in the game world. You can customize your avatar by earning items through gameplay or by purchasing them with a currency called Robux.
Robux is bought with real money and can be spent on outfits, accessories, and other items to personalize your character. If someone else (like your child) is using the account tied to your credit card, be sure to review the settings to prevent accidental charges from buying the latest and craziest outfits.
Is Roblox Just for Kids?
Not necessarily! While the art style might give the impression that Roblox is just for kids, think of it more like Legos โ something that people of all ages can enjoy, especially on the game creation side.
Roblox has also spent a lot of time evolving its security and privacy settings. For example, certain games are off-limits to users under 13. There are also strict chat controls that allow parents to decide who (if anyone) can chat with their child.
What Types of Games Can You Play?
Roblox offers a massive variety of games across different genres. Here are a couple of popular examples:

Jailbreak:
In this game, players are divided into two teams: prisoners and police. The prisoners try to escape while the police attempt to catch them. Even if a prisoner manages to break out, the game continues with high-speed chases involving vehicles like drones and cars, as the police try to recapture them. -
Adopt Me:
This game revolves around adopting and taking care of pets. Players hatch pets from eggs (which require purchasing) and are responsible for feeding and nurturing them. The game also has a trading system where players exchange pets and items, teaching skills like negotiation and cooperation with other real players.
Watch Out for Scams
While Roblox offers plenty of fun, there are also risks โ particularly with scams. One major concern is trading scams in games like Adopt Me, where players might trade valuable items (sometimes purchased with real money) and get tricked by scammers.
Another common scam is the promise of free Robux. Scammers often use sketchy links or fake websites, claiming to offer free currency. In reality, these are usually phishing attempts meant to steal personal information or access accounts. Parents should ensure their kids know never to click on suspicious links and to be cautious when trading in-game.
Why is Roblox So Popular Right Now?
Roblox first launched in 2006, so why has it become such a massive phenomenon recently? When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Roblox became a virtual space for kids to socialize and play together, leading to a huge surge in popularity.
As of now, Roblox has over 164 million monthly active users, and in the United States, itโs estimated that 3 out of 4 children aged 9โ12 play Roblox.
With this increase in players, game creators are also seeing massive success โ some have earned close to half a million dollars, enough to hire teams of developers to build and maintain their games.

So I am 25 just. But I recently met a 14 yr old guy while playing a game. He was talking all day about this... Well... I didn't have any clue, so I looked it up. Now I know., It amazes me how out of touch I am with what games are nowadays for those kids. When I was 14 I would never have played something like this... I used to tell and still sometime explain to my mum and her age group folks that they have no idea about the world today. Well... Seems as though the same goes for me in relation to the next generation behind us. It's crazy, but the world is changing at a dramatically increasing speed with every year. Its almost concerning :/

Let me save you all some time, and Iโm only about 90 seconds in and didnโt know what it was either. Itโs basically a slightly more stable Gmod with monetization, a kid-friendly aesthetic, and โitem trading.โ Including stuff that costs real money. And it targets kids. To spend money.

Thanks for this video. As someone working in IT industry and gaming daily (I am pretty on par with tech trends) - I had to setup surface pro for my friends kid today and she asked that roblox to be installed. I realized I am out of the loop (and not so on par with tech trends) when I launched roblox and was stuck at main menu and had to ask a kid: "So how do you start the game?" This video explains a lot, thanks.

I'm 26 and out of loop with Roblox, even though i love Minecraft and Lego. It just that Roblox always seemed like a messed up game. FInally it's time to check it out haha
